Growing up I mostly listened to western music so Chinese music feels "fresh" in comparison. Even if Chinese pop and rock music is influenced by their western counterparts (I enjoy traditional Chinese music just as little as I enjoy classical western music) good music is good music no matter what language it is performed in. Yes, I do enjoy karaoke very much and it's a great pity that there are no karaoke parlors in Sweden... I started listening to Chinese music while studying Mandarin in Beijing.
